A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 35-year-old priest on Monday noon in the premises of the Madhukeshari temple in Chakoda village under Jajpur district’s Dharmasala police limits.
According to IIC Sudrashan Dah, priest Rabindra Panda raped the girl while she was in the temple to collect Prasad.The victim’s mother lodged a complaint with the police. There were injury marks on the girl’s body and private parts. She was immediately rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) at Dharmasala and as her condition deteriorated she was later shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack.Police have started a manhunt to nab Rabindra after registering a case against him.
