The local office of the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted rise in day temperatures in interior parts of the State.

“Rise in temperature may be experienced in coastal districts also but sea-breeze condition would prevail in coastal regions,” said IMD Director Sarat Sahu.

He said the rise in day temperature is mainly due to advection of heat by north westerly, westerly dry hot winds flowing towards Odisha region. Maximum temperatures appreciably rose in north coast and no large change was observed over rest of the State, he said.

The maximum temperatures were below normal over north coastal Odisha and south interior Odisha and normal over rest of the State.

Minimum temperatures appreciably rose over north coastal Odisha and observed no large change over rest of the State. They were normal over coastal region and appreciably below normal over interior parts of the State.
