The Student Activity Centre (SAC) of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela organised ‘SPIC MACAY’, an event to promote intangible aspects of Indian cultural heritage.
Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai graced the occasion and mesmerized the audience by her performance. The world famous Pandavani artist with her team performed the stories of Pandavas, the legendary brothers in Mahabharat.
She involved in enacting and singing with instrumental accompaniment an ektara as she performed Draupadicheerharan, DushasanaVadh, and MahabharatYudh, between Bhishma and Arjun.
Inaugurating the event she expressed a deep sense of gratitude to the NIT Rourkela for organising such a programme. She said, '' I'm overwhelmed by the love and respect I received here. I have been to Rourkela earlier but performing in front of students is a completely different experience,'' told the Padma Vibhushan awardee artist.
