Gram Panchayat Technical Assistant (GPTA) of Kendrapada Block Rajashree Patnaik, who was trapped on June 28 by the Vigilance sleuths from her Government quarter at block colony in Santasahi while taking a bribe amount of Rs 22,000 from a person to pass a bill of a cement concrete (CC) road, was terminated from her contractual job by District Collector Niranjan Nayak on Thursday.
According to official sources, to pass a bill of a CC road contract work at Kora, Patnaik had demanded a sum of Rs 22,000 from one Arjuna Jena. Arjuna brought the matter before the Vigilance sleuths of Kendrapada. As per a pre-plan, when Pattnaik was receiving the money from Arjuna on June 28, she was trapped red handedly by the Vigilance sleuths. Patnaik was produced at the Special Judge Vigilance court at Cuttack the next day, but she was remanded into jail custody after her bail petition was rejected.
