Team work: '3-Step Forward Culture' best option

Published on:

To make sure that the teams work impeccably in an establishment, research and experience reveals that the “three steps forward” culture is a curative stroke.

Organisations infusing such a culture among their respective employees pave the path for every cross functional project to success. It is found that reaching out to one’s colleague amiably and religiously gets accredited after a few caring attempts. For instance, seeking a meeting with one’s colleague on business purpose whose work place is at a little walking distance on the premises, one should rather opt for walking over to his/her place or prefer a meeting room nearby. Thus, it could break lots of ice as such a noble gesture to one’s junior colleagues virtually bears far-fetched consequences and a healthy bond. Hence, it is the first step forward to a hale and hearty work culture in a team.

Suppose a team goal goes amiss. Instead of resorting to an insane and wanton reaction followed by seeking for an instant explanation via email and sounding his/ her boss, the best way is to call him/her over phone or through SMS alerts for updates. While the former approach kills the team spirit, the latter enhances. So, let’s not let the cherished team spirit sag and drift away. let’s try to keep it intact. And, thus goes the second step forward. last but not the least, a surprise team lunch or dinner adds flavor further to the team spirit. Assigning tasks and following it up by individual names of employees instead of by their functions can also reap dividends. The moment it is done by functional name, the functional barriers crop up that needs to be kept at bay.

As such gestures go un-noticed if done only once awaiting a positive response, perseverance spurs up the team spirit. Thus, working in such an environment instils enthusiasm and optimism that erects a efficient, effective and result-oriented organisation sans chaos and stress as well as functional clashes.Nevertheless, despite being a buzzing term, a true “team work” virtually lacks in the corporate world following which most of the corporate captains or chief executive officers (CEOs)/chief operating officers (COOs) are seen red-faced.So, it is high time every organisation should strive at adopting the ‘Three Step Forward’ culture.
