To mount pressure for a separate State of Kosal, a nine-member team of the Kosal State Coordination Committee has left for Delhi. After a Press meet here, the team boarded the Delhi-bound Utkal Express train.
Before leaving for Delhi, Kosal Coordination Committee convener Pramod Mishra told the media that after the success of the August 26western Odisha strike, the committee is upbeat about creation of s separate State Kosal. Moreover, the priority of the Modi Government for creating smaller States is an encouraging sign for a Kosal State.
The real Achhe Din for the people of western Odisha would come only when creation of a Kosal State materialises, he said.
The nine-member team has plans to meet PM Modi, PMO officials, intellectuals and MPs of western Odisha. It is noteworthy that local BJP leaders had participated in the last round of demand of Kosal State. But State-level leaders refused to take any favourable stand on the issue.
So, in view of the Modi Government’s support for smaller States, an official support declaration from the BJP national headquarters is what would be the prime focus of the visiting team to Delhi, said Mishra.
The delegates to Delhi are Bunde Dhurua, Gorekh Nath Sahu, Sunil Purohit, Prof Jatindra Mund, Pramod Jhankar, Surendra Sahu, Braja Mohan Dani, Birendra Panigrahi and Narayan Mohapatra.
