Sainik School
The Sainik School cadets celebrated the Teachers’ Day with much enthusiasm. School Principal Kanchan Mukherjee garlanded the portrait of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan in the presence of Registrar Ajay Gupta, Headmaster Shreyash Mehta and senior master AK Rath. Mukherjee later spoke on the importance of education and how the cadets can be dutiful citizens and serve the motherland. Odia Department Head Dr PC Das advised the students to inculcate human values in life. later, all senior cadets of Class-XII shouldered the responsibilities of their teachers and taught their juniors from Class-VI to XI.
DAV Pokhariput
TThe DAV Public School, Pokhariput here celebrated the Teachers’ Day with much fervour on Saturday. All teachers of the school paid tributes to the photographs of former President Dr S Radhakrishnan and Mother Teresa. A Yagna was organised on the occasion for the victory of school student Ananya Nanda in the television reality show Indian Idol Junior. Addressing the gathering, school Principal Madam Sujata said teachers should realize their own importance and help honing the inherent skills of the students.
Udaygiri Study Centre
The Teachers’ Day was celebrated at the Udaygiri Study Centre here with centre’s Director A Panda presiding over a function. RK Mishra and youth leader lipak Choudhury joined the event as guests. The centre director discussed on how the students would remain attached to their teachers and advised the students to adopt teaching as a profession in future. Choudhury said, “At a time when the State Government is paying no heed to the problems faced by teachers, students should fight for the interest of teachers.”
BJEM School
The 125th birth anniversary of former President Dr S Radhakrishnan was observed at the Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium (BJEM) School here on Saturday. School Director Dr Ashwini Kumar Tiwari joined the event as chief guest and spoke on obligation and accountability of teachers. School Principal Sandhya Jena and senior member of the School Managing Committee Raghunath Mishra deliberated on the life and ideologies of the former President, significance of the day and ideal teachership.
