In a recent transfer of primary school teachers, a case has come to the fore where a teacher was transferred to two schools at a time. As a result, he was in a fix as to join where.
The teacher was identified as Bijay Kumar Mohanty of Baghua-Keshpur primary school. He was transferred to Parakana UP School in serial no— 58 of a transfer list and at the same time to the Khanipal UP School in serial no— 41 of the transfer list.
Similarly, another teacher, Pramod Kumar Routray of Mukteswar Upper Primary School was in deputation to Kumarpatana Primary school.
He was transferred from the school to Siddheswari UP School. But, the School and Mass Education department did not provide a single teacher to the Kumarpatana Primary school. As a result, it is expected that the school may be closed. Even, the SME department at the district level allegedly by violating the guidelines also made inter-block transfer of several physical handicapped teachers.
Several teachers alleged that the district authorities had hurriedly issued the transfer order for which such mistakes were found. It may be noted that last month, the SME department had put the name of a dead teacher of Jajanga UP School in the promotion list.
When contacted, District Education Officer (DEO) Markat Keshari Ray informed that within a span of 52 hours the transfer list was prepared. It has been directed to the Block Education Officers to rectify the mistakes, but somehow they could not be. However, they would be rectified soon.”
The DEO also informed that an additional teacher each had been provided to 248 schools run with a single teacher.
