A schoolteacher of a residential school at Katamateru village in the district incurred the wrath of locals on Monday for allegedly misbehaving with a girl student of the school.
Reports said that teacher Ashwini Dehury of Katamateru Ashram Vidyalaya was allegedly misbehaving with a Class-VI girl frequently.
Following the repeated complaints, irate locals detained Dehury, dragged and stripped him on the village road. The mob later thrashed the teacher mercilessly and tied him to the main gate of the school.
The incident came to fore after a video of the teacher being thrashed by the crowd went viral on social media. But no police complaint has been lodged in the connection.
