A sports teacher of a Government school at Brooks Hill here was detained by police for allegedly showing obscene photographs to some Class VI girl students on Monday. According to sources, the accused sports teacher had allegedly showed luring photographs to girl students of Class VI on Monday last and also made some obscene gestures towards them. He had also warned the girls against complaining to the Headmistress and had tried to molest them.
However, the students managed to report the matter to the headmistress. On searching the accused teacher’s wallet, four objectionable photographs were found. As the school reopened after the weekend holidays on Monday, angry parents barged into the school, caught hold of the accused teacher and thrashed the teacher black and blue.
The accused teacher could be rescued only after the Dhanupalli Police intervened and took him to the police station. Parents of the girl students have lodged a written complaint against the teacher with the police. It was alleged that the school authorities had asked the girls not to report the matter to the parents or outside.
