A teacher of the Bandhapada Gram Panchayat High School in Rajnagar block of the district was detained by police on Wednesday for his alleged misbehaviour with a girl student .
The teacher Ananta Charan Patra of Gobindapur village used to call the girl of Class-VIII into an empty classroom and make obscene gestures and misbehave with her a number of times before, but the girl had not disclosed the matter to anyone.
But on July 11, unable tolerate the harassment, she brought the matter to the notice of her family members, who informed the headmaster and the school management committee about it. However, the teacher refuted the allegations.
Later, the girl’s aunt lodged a complaint with the Rajnagar police, following which the teacher was detained and was being questioned by the cops.
Notably, the same teacher had been punished for misbehaving with another girl student last year.
