Two unidentified bike-borne miscreants on Monday threw acid on a teacher at Aalisi Sashan under the Balipatna police station on the outskirts of the city.
The victim was identified as Surendra Mohapatra, a Physical Education Teacher (PET) in the Aalisi Sashan High School near Balipatna. While he was returning from the school, the miscreants threw acid on him and fled from the spot.
Critically injured Mohapatra was rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment. The actual reason of the attack was yet to be known. The Balipatna police have started a search operation to nab the culprits.
