A workshop on Goods and Services Tax (GST) was held here on Sunday evening jointly by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and EIRC, Sambalpur Unit. All pros and cons of the newly-promulgated Bill were discussed at length. “The Bill will be the most revolutionary one in the country ever since independence,” opined participants.
Notably, the Bill is now waiting for Presidential ascent to become an Act. The aftereffects of the proposed Act on the tax system were minutely discussed.
Among others, tax head of Vedanta ltd Sarada Bhusan Mohanty, Susil Kumar Goyal of Kolkata and Bibek Kumar Halwai of Bhubaneswar spoke on the subject and answered different questions of delegates present. Many Chartered Accounts and corporate representatives participated.
