The Joda Municipality held auction for its tax collection from the market on Thursday. The decision for holding the auction was taken keeping in view the low collection of tax and allegations of irregularities.
One Prahallad Ray was the highest bidder for the collection of tax (Mahasul) from the market for a period of one year from August 1. A total of five bidders had participated in the auction.
Notably, Municipality Executive Officer Suryamani Patjoshi, after taking over his post, started an auction-based tax collection from last year.
