The Tata Steel paid Rs26,60,732 as dues to 147 workmen of Jay Maa Hingula and LKM Contractors after agitation led by Er Debashisha Hota and positive conciliation of DLO Satyanarayan Acharya.
Here noteworthy that, these poor workmen approached Er Hota for not getting their dues in time. Er Hota filed cases at DLO on behalf of them. But, due to no result, these poor workmen demonstrated in front of Kantabania TATA Steel main gate on March 18 under the leadership of Er Hota.
The Labour officers rushed to the spot and gave written assurances for immediate payment of dues of the workmen, after which the agitation was postponed. Later discussions were held with top officials of TATA Steel and Dhenkanal DLO Acharya. At last TATA Steel has paid dues directly to bank accounts of the workmen.
