land oustees of the Joda Belipada Tata Sponge factory, who had been sitting on a dharna since May 3 demanding jobs in the plant, have withdrawn the agitation following intervention of the district administration.
The land oustees also demanded reinstatement of local employees terminated illegally and other five issues.
A meeting was held on Tuesday between Tata Sponge authorities and striking leaders for an amicable solution of the matter.
Joda BDO and Barbil in-charge Tehsildar Arun Mallick, who presided over the meeting, asked the Tata Sponge authorities to furnish details of lands possessed by the company and the villagers to produce the list of land losers and land provided by each of them at the next meeting scheduled to be held after 15 days.
Joda IIC Sumeet Kumar Siren and other Government officials were present.
