Tata Group chairman Cyrus Pallonji Mistry on Tuesday laid foundation stone of a 500-bed multispecialty hospital to be set up by the Tata Steel at Sitalapalli village in Gopalpur of Ganjam district.
Mistry along with Higher Education Minster Dr Pradeep Panigrahy and Tata Steel MD (India and South East Asia) TV Narendran also flagged off an advanced mobile medical unit to serve the people of the area.
Another four more mobile medical units would join the league shortly to provide primary health care facility to the people residing in the peripheral villages at their doorstep, covering nearly 30 villages in and around the Gopalpur-Chhatrapur region, said company officials.
The hospital would spread over 44 acres of land and begin with 200 beds in the first phase with an estimated cost of around `100 crore, the officials added.
