The Second Freedom Fighters (SFF), a civil society, and the Tata Bisthapita Mancha on Tuesday demanded employment for displaced people of the Tata Gopalpur project in Ganjam.
Briefing reporters here, SFF member Manoj Kumar Dash said the State Government had displaced hundreds of villagers for the Tata project by promising employment and proper rehabilitation facility, but nothing happened within last 20 years. “The poor displaced people neither got proper rehabilitation facility nor employment. The people got raw deal from the State and the Tata Company,” Dash said.
He said the Tata Company provided training to several youths of Gopalpur area by promising jobs in the company, but it was just a false promise. The youths didn’t get any employment, he added.
Protest dharna of the Tata Bisthapita Mancha and the SFF in front of the State Assembly here entered on 14th day on Tuesday.
