Though Tarbha NAC Chairman Monikalal Agrawal was felicitated at Bhubaneswar as the best leader for the year of 2017, the civic body situation is horrible.
The Odisha Cultural Foundation Trust organises the felicitation ceremony every year. Trust president Guru S Tripathy presided over the function that was held recently.
Revenue Minister Surjya Narayan Patro attended as chief guest while Rajya Sabha Member Sarojini Hembrum and former Union Minister Brajakishore Tripathy attended as guests of honour.
In a normal spell of rain most low-lying areas remains water logged. Even the main road of Tarbha NAC is submerged due to lack of drainage system.
The residents find it very difficult to move on the roads at Nitai Mandir, State Bank Chowk, Radha Krushna Mandir and Hospital road. A minimum of two-foot deep water submerges most of the roads, including the police station-hospital road. The weekly market also faces water logging problem in rain. The NAC authorities are collecting lakhs of rupees from traders of the weekly market, yet it has done nothing to sort out the problem.
