Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue, Dr Taradatt had a narrow escape on Friday when a four-wheeler hit his official car from behind near the Capital Hospital Square here.
According to sources, the top bureaucrat’s Tata Indigo coming from the airport side was waiting at the traffic post near the hospital for green signal when a Maruti Swift hit it from behind. While the backside of the Tata Indigo was damaged completely, Taradatt, who was sitting in the backseat, suffered minor injuries on his leg. He was soon rushed to the Capital Hospital.
Following information, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Upendranath Behera and Health Secretary Arti Ahuja rushed to the spot. The Capital police conducted an investigation from various angles and found that the Maruti Swift driver had hit two vehicles before dashing against Taradatt’s car and was in a hurry to save himself from possible attacks. The driver was later arrested.
