With an aim to check the capacity of the Arjun Tank developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), a tank-to-tank firing was held at the test range of the Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE) in the Chandipur Integrated Test Range (ITR) here on Wednesday.
Sources said the test firing was conducted in two phases, the first at 11.30 am and another at 12.30 pm.
The test firing was performed from the Arjun Tank to the T55 tank, developed by the Russian Defence Centre.
According to reports, the test, which was held for the first time in India, would help ascertain the capacity of the tank as well as the preventive power when it comes to firing at another tank.
