The Talcher Working Journalist Association (TWJA) organised the National Press Day here with a seminar and a felicitation programme of media personnel and a cultural function.
Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan joined as chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Gourahari Das, writer, educationist and scribe joined as chief speaker and activist Namrata Chadha joined as guest speaker. Besides Talcher Sub Collector Paresh Chandra Nayak, Social Development Officer of KISS Sadhana Mishra and NTPC CGM Santosh James, Mumbai Odia Mahasamaj president Dr Bipin Mishra and Additional SP of Angul Santosh Mishra were on the dais.
The theme of the seminar was “The role of media in women empowerment and its social impact.”
Dr Das was awarded 4th pillar media icon award, Chadha 4th pillar women empowerment award, Sadhana Mishra social service award, Santosh James, management leadership award, Dr Bipin Mishra, social empowerment award , Shelbi Mishra(pilot from Mumbai), youth empowerment award , Deepak Pradhan, Sambad Gourab Award, Manoj Nanda, journalist icon award, Alois Topno, AGM HR,TTPS, appreciation award, Amit Kumar Behera, Manager PR, NTPC, Kaniha, appreciation award ,Samarendra Malik, Senior Manager HR, TTPS, appreciation award.
General secretary of the association Dhiramohan Ray coordinated and president Artatarana Pani presided.
