The Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl) on Friday signed an MoU with public-sector NBCC as another step towards setting up a medical college at Talcher.
The MoU was signed by MCl GM (CSR) BB Mishra and NBCC GM (Civil) VK Goel in the presence of MCl CMD AN Sahay.The construction work for the proposed Rs 492.62-crore, 100-seat medical college would commence shortly, an MCl release said.
The state-of-the-art medical college would have separate academic and residential blocks with a 300-bed boys’ hostel, a 200-bed girls’ hostel and an interns’ and nurses’ hostel.The MCl’s existing 115-bed Nehru Shatabadi Central Hospital at Talcher would be upgraded with 500 beds for the medical college.
