The Angul district administration has finally sealed Sanjibani Ultra Sound Clinic here on Friday after being confirmed that illegal practices were being performed in the clinic.
There were numerous allegations against the clinic for resorting to several irregularities in treatment of patients and unlawful tests.Besides, the clinic had not paid its taxes and other dues to the Government, said Sub- Inspector Sabitri Panda.
Chief District Medical Officer Dr Chittaranjan Nayak, SDMO Dr Harekrushna Mohapatra and Sub-Inspector Panda of the Talcher Police Station conducted sealed it in presence of magistrate Daridrya Bhanjan Madan Mohan Patra.
It may be noted here that earlier Krishna Clinic at Balhar Chhak and Sanjibani Ultra Sound Clinic were raided on August 14 last. The owner of Sanjibani Clinic Dr Ashok Behera was trapped and arrested by Vigilance while taking bribe from a patient in 2002. Dr Behera was working at the Talcher Sub-Divisional Hospital at that time.
