SCB Medical College and Hospital Pathology Department head Prof Dr Sitaram Mohapatra, who was recently shifted to the Health and Family Welfare Department following allegations of sexual harassment of PG students, on Friday appeared before the State Commission of Women (SCW) here and recorded his statement. “I have given my statement on the incident to the Commission. You will know about the truth after the Commission completes its inquiry,” Mohapatra told reporters later.
However, SCW chairperson lopamudra Buxipatra said “We will go through the statement of Mohapatra in detail and submit a report after completing our investigation.” The accused professor, who had remained at large since the day the allegations were made against him, was granted interim relief by the High Court.
