For the kharif session 2021-2022, the Rama Devi SHG at Murumkel in Bhadigaon panchayat under Bhatli block of Bargarh district has been authorised to prepare farmer cards in Bhadigaon GP area, kicking off a row. The SHG allegedly made over 400 fake farmer cards by resorting to malpractices in kharif season 2020-2021 and therefore some genuine farmers are resenting it. Non-cultivated land, Government land, ponds and play grounds were shown as cultivated land and farmer ID cards had been issued by the SHG on those lands.
At that time, numerous allegations had been levelled against the SHG. Even an investigation was also conducted by the Collector Bargarh. The SHG had been found to be involved in massive irregularities. A case had been registered by the Vigilance, Sambalpur, against the SHG. The local farmers alleged that, the concerned SHG was selected again for participation in paddy procurement in 2021-2022 by the DSWO, Bargarh and DPM, Mission Shakti, Bargarh. Dibakara Suna, a farmer and social worker of Bhatli alleged that SHG was hand in glove with the CSO and DPM Missin Shakti Bargarh and filed a petition against the SHG.
