Normal life in Titilagarh town in Balangir district was badly affected due to a 12-hour bandh observed by the Zilla Kriyanusthan Committee demanding a district status to Titilagarh, now a sub-division.
Shops and other business establishments were closed and buses were off the road.
People, irrespective of their political party affiliations, supported the bandh. Local MLA Tukuni Sahu had earlier extended her support, informed senior BJD leader Bhavani Hota
“Time has come for formation of a new district reorganisation commission, which can determine issues based on financial requirement and governance,” said Balangir MP Kalikesh Singh Deo, when contacted.
