The body of a 32-year-old person was found under suspicious circumstances in Kanishk hotel near Rajmahal Square in the city on Sunday afternoon.
The body was identified as that of Babula Nayak of Bhimapada under the Bolagarh police limits in Khordha district, who was staying at Badagada in the city. He was working as a sweeper in the hotel for last seven years.
According to hotel owner Sayed Faiz Ahmed, he got information in the afternoon about the death of the sweeper in the hotel room-112. He rushed to the hotel and immediately informed the police about the incident.
The Capital police recovered the body and sent it to the Capital Hospital for autopsy. Following search in the hotel room, the police retrieved CCTV footage from the hotel and started verifying it.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s wife Jayanti Nayak, who reached the hotel after getting information about the death of her husband, alleged that her husband was murdered. She held the hotel management responsible for his husband’s murder and demanded stringent action against the culprits.
Jayanti, mother of two children, revealed that her husband had enmity with two hotel staffs, Bulu and Trinath, and they even had a fight over an issue earlier. “The duo should be interrogated properly to get truth in the case,” she said.
