Some beneficiaries of Swachh Bharat toilets of Badatota village under the Balanga police station detained a voluntary organisation coordinator on Monday for alleged misappropriation of funds of the campaign.
Sources said Pramila Kandi, Bilas Pradhan, Banita Kandi, Bidulata Kandi of Badatota village had constructed their toilets some month ago, but yet they haven’t received their payments from the departmental authorities.
They alleged that the coordinator of the work misappropriated their funds.
On the day, the coordinator visited the village and held talks with the beneficiaries regarding toilet construction. later, the beneficiaries detained him demanding refund of their funds.
The Satyabadi RWSS Junior Engineer rushed to the village and held discussions with the beneficiaries. But the coordinator was still being detained. No complaint had been lodged with the police in this regard.
