The nation-wide Swachchh Bharat campaign was also launched in the Steel City on Thursday with various organisations, including the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) here carrying out various cleanliness activities.
RSP CEO GS Prasad led a cleanliness drive participated by other senior officers of the RSP and office-bearers of the Rourkela Chamber of Commerce at the Banei Gate Chowk. Besides, SAIl Chairman CS Verma administered the Swachh Bharat pledge to the SAIl collectives through a video conference in the morning followed by a ‘Swachh SAIl, Sundar SAIl’ campaign.
On another occasion, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram also launched the programme, organised by the Rourkela Municipality and district administration, at the railway station here. He stressed on the need to create awareness on cleanliness at home, work place, streets, roads and public places. He said the state emplyees should lead by example for others to follow.
