In view of the upcoming elections and on the direction of the Election Commission of India, the Jagatsinghpur district administration launched the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities on Sunday.
As part of the SVEEP programme, Collector-cum-Election Officer G Poonam Tapas Kumar flagged off two vehicles to move across eight blocks and two municipal areas of the district spreading awareness among voters on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).
Kumar also said that to educate voters with disabilities and their active participation arrangements have been made for physical challenged voters to help them to cast votes during elections.
administration has also planned to hold cultural programmes in few selective locations of the district by various cultural, folk and musical troupes creating awareness among the voters for casting votes.
