A device, suspected to be installed in an ATM in the district to defraud debit card users, was found from the machine on Sunday evening.
A youth detected the device while withdrawing money at an ATM kiosk of SBI near Bagadia Chhak under the Chhendipada police station in the district.
While pressing buttons of the ATM, he accidentally touched the device which was attached to the machine. The device came out of the machine with ease as the youth tried to hold it. Suspecting foul play, he informed the local police. Cops have seized the device and initiated investigation to ascertain the person who installed it.
Worth mentioning, such devices are usually used by fraudsters to know the personal identification number (PIN) of debit cards.
