As anticipated, sitting CPI MlA from Chhatrapur in Ganjam district Adikanda Sethi joined the BJD on Sunday in the presence of BJD president Naveen Patnaik at the Naveen Nivas here.
Sethi had been suspended by the CPI the previous day for violating party discipline.
After joining the BJD, Sethi said, “I was being subjected to humiliation in the CPI. Most of the projects that I got sanctioned from the Government were opposed by my own party men.”
