A suspended Sub-Inspector (SI) of Police of the Mancheswar police station, who was admitted at the Capital Hospital with multiple injuries after he fell off from the terrace of his official quarter late on Saturday night under suspicious circumstances, died on Sunday morning at the Capital Hospital here.
The deceased identified as Krushna Chandra Behera, who was serving as an SI of police at Mancheswar police station, was suspended from job in February last after being caught by vigilance sleuths while taking `2,000 as bribe.
Deceased’s brother Prafulla Chandra Behera said, “Around 1 am on Saturday night, Krushana had come to the terrace to sleep. After a few minutes, he unfortunately fell off and sustained multiple injuries.”
“We immediately rushed him to the Capital Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning,” said Prafulla. He also refuted the suicide allegation raised by media. Meanwhile, the Mancheswar police have started an investigation.
