A man allegedly murdered his wife suspecting her fidelity in Umarkote of Nabarangpur district on Tuesday.
According to reports, Biplab Mandal (26) and his wife Chumki (21) were returning to their house at Badakumari from his in-laws’ house at Murtama village by a motorcycle. In the meantime, a heated exchange of words erupted between the two as Biplab questioned her fidelity.
The matter took a violent turn as Biplab lost his cool and crushed his wife to death with a stone. He later surrendered at the Umarkote police station. Cops recovered the woman’s body for postmortem and initiated an investigation.
