The Odisha Surakhya Sena has urged the Puri Gajapati, who is the head of the Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, to lodge written complaint against the recent mess in the temple during the Snan Purnima when the deities were touched by the devotees.
The forum said that since the Gajapati does not look much concerned about the series of disturbances taking place in the temple starting from disrespect to the Sankaracharya, touching the deities on chariot by the devotees to the Brahma Parivartan bungling, he has not lodged a single written complaint with the State Government over the issues.
The forum lamented that the Gajapati has so far only tried to pass the buck on the temple administration and the servitors in all these cases.
The forum said that the Gajapati being the chief of the Shreemandir Managing Committee, the temple administration and the Government have always acted at his behest.
But every time, some unethical event takes place, the Gajapati tries to blame the administration, which is not fair, said Sena spokesperson Bishnudatta Das and demanded the resignation of the Gajapati from the temple committee chief.
