Suraj tries to outwit Naveen

Just a day after winning the Dhamnagar Assembly by-election, Suryabanshi Suraj of opposition BJP seemed to have quite wittingly put the ball of the task of development of the constituency in the court of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

“During election campaigning, the Chief Minister had promised that he was going to take the responsibility of the Dhamnagar area. Even though the BJD candidate has been defeated, I humbly request the CM that he should still take the responsibility of Dhamnagar,” said young Suraj, who referred to Patnaik’s appeal to the Dhamnagar electorate to vote for his BJD candidate Abanti Das so that he would shoulder the task of the constituency’s development.

Notably, after Patnaik’s appeal did not work to ensure a victory of the BJD nominee, he told the media that his party had in fact expected the BJP to win the seat.
