Deep resentment prevailed among local BJP workers on Saturday over the absence of party MlA Dilip Ray’s photos in the hoardings put up by the party on the eve of Rath Yatra in the Steel City.
The MlA’S supporters expressed disappointment over the incidence and said absence of Ray from any party campaigns would send a wrong message to the people. In some places, Ray’s irate supporters even vandalised the hoardings.
“Why the photo of the local MlA is missing in the hoardings wishing people on Rath YatraIJ In protest, we have ripped the hoardings,” said BJP Mandal president Asesh Mohanty.Ray’s supporters alleged that it is a conspiracy against their leader, and this has disheartened them. Notably, the MlA had accused the Prime Minister for the delay in construction of a second bridge over river Brahmani and upgradation of IGH, Rourkela even though the party is in power at the Centre for three years.
