Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) chairman Suparno Satpathy’s wife Kanchan narrowly escaped from a major car fire in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Kanchan was driving a Skoda Superb car when it caught fire in front of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters here. NDMA officials soon jumped into action and rescued her.
Bystanders said severe flames erupted from the car and her rescue was short of a miracle.
This incident was tweeted by @ndmaindia, the official twitter handle of NDMA. Suparno Satpathy reacted in his official twitter handle @SuparnoSatpathy,expressing his gratitude to NDMA officials for saving his wife.
Kanchan was driving the car and escaped from the fire very narrowly with no injuries, he said.
