On the International Day of Peace, sociopolitical leader and Smt Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) chairman Suparno Satpathy appealed for world peace with photographs of an art installation by world renowned artist Anil Revri. The art piece is called ‘Wall of Peace’ and the same had been installed at the Dalas Airport of Washington DC in the USA.

Artist Anil Revri’s monument of peace had the form of a giant ticker tape that displays English translations of scriptures related to peace from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and Sikhism. Each horizontal band of text contains one selection from each of the six religions and scrolls across the entire surface of the unit. In the wake of the dastardly terrorist attack on the army base at Uri, Kashmir where 18 Indian soldiers took to martyrdom, Satpathy tweeted that the message of peace via the art installation holds very high relevance for today.

The respondents to Satpathy’s tweet included UN officials, PMO India, cricket star Murali Kartik , eminent journalist Shekhar Gupta,  Ghazal Maestro Tauseef Akhtar, eminent art curator Niten Mehta, besides art maestro Anil Revri himself.
