Sundargarh’s Badgaon police station ASI Kailash Naik wasarrested on Monday for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 to remove graver sections while submitting charge sheet against a person.Based on a complaint, the Vigilance trapped Naik red handed from his office. In another case on the day, simultaneous house searches were conducted on properties of Mallilata Das, Lady Supervisor, office of CDPO, Bhadrak Block, at four places in Bhadrak district and her assets worthRs 2.63 crore were unearthed. The assets include one five storeyedbuilding and one four storeyed building-cum-shops and three plots atSamaraipur, Bhadrak town, one four wheeler, one auto, two two- wheelers, assets/stock in four storeyed building-cum-shops over Rs1.13 crore, bank deposits of over Rs1.96 lakh, insurance deposits of over Rs1.83 lakh and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 2.63 crore. In a 3rd case on day, Goura Chandra Budhia, Secretary (under suspension), Kumbhari Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS), Bargarh came under Vigilance net with raids having conducted at two places in Bargarh district. His movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 87.5 lakh, were unearthed.
