The Vigilance registered a case against Industries Promotion Officer (IPO) of Bargaon in Sundargarh district Rama Krushna Sahoo for demanding `10,000 as bribe from Suraj Kumar Sa to process his application form for sanction of loan under PMEGP scheme.
Police also arrested Sahoo and forwarded him to court on Tuesday. After getting the allegation, a trap was laid on Tuesday where accused Sahoo was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant in his office room.
Sahoo directed the complainant to keep the entire cash in an envelope and put it in his table drawer. The accompanying witness who was present along with the complainant heard the conversation and saw the whole transaction. The bribe money was recovered from the table drawer and was seized in presence of the witnesses. The relevant documents were seized.
