A youth of Sundargarh district, allegedly after promising a girl to marry, raped her and sold her off at Goa.

The girl after being rescued by the Sundargarh police reached home on Tuesday and was placed before the CWC on Wednesday. Again, the father of the victim girl, who was on the way to Goa to search her daughter, has gone missing. Police are now searching him.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, the statement of victim was recorded.

The victim girl (16), a resident of Pandaridipa under town police station, had fallen in love with one Haresh Kiro(19), a resident of Badmal under Sadar police station in Sundargarh. Haresh had promised the minor girl to marry and had cunningly asked her to leave her house on September 23 for marrying him and had taken her to Badmal and had kept her there for a day.

Thereafter he had kept her in a house at Karamdih in Sundargarh for four days. When the family members of the girl searched her and could not trace her, the mother of minor girl had lodged an FIR on September 25. In the meantime, Haresh had taken her live-in-partner to a house at Amalapali under town police station in Sundargarh and kept her there for one month. During the stay at Amalapali, Haresh had come in contact with one Megha Oram and his wife Liza Oram, reportedly agent of trafficking, who was staying as neighbour of Haresh.  Megha reportedly had told Haresh to leave Sundargarh and go to Goa where he can arrange a job. Megha in the meantime had talked to one person at Goa to engage the minor girl and had allegedly asked that man to give an advance sum of Rs 5,000 to go to Goa. After getting Rs 5,000 from that man as advance amount, Megha, along with his wife Liza, Haresh and his minor partner had taken her to Madgaon at  South Goa on October 29 and after leaving the minor girl there, they had taken Rs 7,000 from that person. Megha, Liza and Haresh had left Goa and had come to Amalapali in Sundargarh. On November 5, Town police after getting information about the presence of  Haresh at Amalapali raided at Amalapali and arrested Haresh, Megha and Liza and forwarded them to court on November 6.

Meanwhile, the Fatoda police of Madgaon informed town police station in Sundargarh that the  minor girl had been rescued. According to Fatoda police, the man who had kept the minor girl as worker had handed her over to police after knowing that she is a minor girl.

After getting information, a two member police team led by Sub Inspector Kasinath Barik of Town police station, Sundargarh along with father of the girl and his nephew (sister’s son) went to Goa on November 8 and rescued the victim.

However, the father of the victim girl had gone missing on way to Goa.
