A 24-year- old tribal graduate girl of Bargaon block, who reportedly was lured by a broker with a promise of a good job but was allegedly sold to a Delhi based agency, was rescued and handed over to her family members on Friday.
The girl reportedly was engaged as a domestic help in different houses at Delhi for about 20 months, without any salary. The family members had come to know about her plight only after she could manage to give a call to her brother, after which local police had taken action.
According to FIR lodged by victim’s brother in Bargaon police station, she reportedly had come in contact with one Lulu Majhi, a native of Bargaon block, in December, 2016. Majhi had promised her to engage her in a good job at Delhi area.
Accordingly, she reportedly had left for Delhi along with Majhi in January, 2017. After reaching Delhi, Majhi allegedly had sold her to one agency which engages persons as domestic help. Accordingly, Rita was engaged in one house at Delhi. After working about 20 months without any salary, she reportedly had fallen sick. She somehow managed to contact her brother and narrated her plight recently.
