Advisor of the Patharagada Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee,Talcher Bibhudhendra Pratap Das has welcomed the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee’s suggestion to the State Government that the devotees be restricted from climbing atop the chariots and touching the deities during the car festivals.
“Daita servitors have been allowing rich, capitalists and businessmen to touch lord Jagannath to earn huge amount of money during car festivals. For this, common people are deprived of having a darshan of the lord, which is not appropriate at all,” said Das in a statement.The committee had suggested the State Government to restrict devotes from climbing atop chariots on May 11.
