Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched a two-year programme called ‘Sudakhya’ to encourage women and girl students to pursue technical education and skill development.

Under the programme, women and girl students, who have cleared Class-X examination, are eligible to get admission into the technical courses like ITI.

The students, who have cleared Class-VIII examination, can also be enrolled into the course depending upon the trade. The women and girl students would be provided training under the programme.

Sudakhya was launched on Friday aiming to create self-employment opportunities for women and girls. The programme would be in operation for two years, 2017-18 and 2018-19.

The programme aims to increase the number of girl students in the Government-run ITIs during these two years.
