The Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) on Thursday demanded that the State Government intervene in the police-lawyer faceoff and find out a solution soon.
Addressing a Press meet here, SUCI (C) Cuttack district secretary Biswabasu Das said even after two months of the police-lawyer confrontation, the State Government has failed to find out a solution and ensure functioning of courts. Due to non-functioning of courts, common people are suffering a lot.
Condemning the alleged callous attitude of the Government, Das said every citizen has a constitutional right to get justice and he shouldn’t be deprived of that.
“Crores of people have been deprived of getting justice due to the lawyers’ strike, which has led to closure of the courts throughout the State,” pointed out Das.
Among others, district members Khageswar Sethi, Basant Nayak, Rajkishore Mallick, Sibasis Praharaj, Sidhart Rath and Deepak Das were present.
