A successful sportsperson can overcome all sorts of obstacles and even never stay back with his defeats, opined Arjuna awardee weightlifter K Ravi Kumar joining at the National Sports Day celebrations at the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Kumar offered floral tributes to Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary and advised students to follow his ideals to become successful sports persons in future.
Narrating his struggle and his means of overcoming it throughout his illustrious career, Kumar honoured the budding sports stars of the school, Arushi Srichandan, Manish Kumar and Abhinav Mohanty. A team of Odisha Skating Academy under the supervision of secretary Partha Sarathi Jena also displayed a spectacular performances.
Physical Education HOD Durga Prasanna Dasmohapatra and teachers Anand Chandra Das and V Vasudev Rao coordinated the programme.
