The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at six places, including the apartment of arrested middleman Subhankar Nayak in connection with the chit fund scam of the Seashore Group of companies.
Officials of the CBI raided the apartment at Kharavel Nagar where Nayak was residing till his arrest.
Earlier on April 7 CBI had conducted simultaneous raids on the houses of some officials of the Seashore company. The laxmisagar and Angul residences of Seashore CMD Prashant Dash were also searched by the Central investigating sleuths. Another residence of a Director of the company at Palasuni was also raided by the CBI sleuths. Prasant, his brother Pravat Dash and Nayak had been named by the CBI in a 276-page CBI chargesheet accusing the company of duping Rs 578.20 crore from investors in the State.
