The Subarnapur district administration on Saturday demolished the prominent Trahi Achyut Ashram at Bhagbati Plot here. The ashram had been established five months ago.
The Sonepur tehsil administration came to know that the ashram had encroached 235 decimals of a Government land. The administration had sent a notice to ashram in-charge Brajamohan Agrawal to leave the land. As he did not respond, the district administration demolished the ashram in the presence of the Sonepur Tehsildar and police.
“The activities of Sura Baba at his Bhubaneswar ashram are very shameful. Here also, the ashram had grabbed Government land,” said an official of the district administration.
